VSAT Network Services

VSAT, short for very small aperture terminal, is an earthbound station used in satellite transmissions of data, voice and video signals. VSAT consists of a transceiver that is placed outdoors and an interface device, such as a PC, that is placed indoors.

The transceiver receives or sends a signal to a satellite which sends and receives signals from a ground station computer that acts as a hub for the system. Each end user is interconnected with the hub station via the satellite. For one end user to communicate with another, each transmission has to first go to the hub station that then retransmits it via the satellite to the other end user's VSAT. VSAT can handle up to 56 Kbps.

VSAT is a secure and reliable medium to connect isolated or dispersed locations.

VSAT can provide cost-effective solutions for your business:

  • Credit/Debit Card Authorizations
  • Corporate Communications and Employee Training
  • Music and/or Video
  • Software Update Distribution
  • Enabling Enhanced Technology and Emerging Applications

WHY SATELLITE?

Internet services providers everywhere are scrambling to try to keep up with the rising demand for network bandwidth and trying to pinch more out of existing bandwidth. VSAT services provide easily scalable, cost-effective Internet access.

BENEFITS

  • NETWORK PERFORMANCE
Satellite connections link directly to an Internet backbone and bypass congested and routers. Also, dedicated space segments and local loops into the Internet backbone means that ISP's do not share infrastructure, which is another reason for slow or degraded connections over a traditional fiber line.
  • FAST INSTALLATION
Satellite services can be activated much quicker than fiber, usually within a few weeks. As a network grows, additional capacity can be obtained in just as short a time.
  • LOW NETWORK COSTS
The very nature of satellites allows for the simultaneous delivery of information to wide geographic areas without regard to infrastructure or geographic barriers. This means that the pricing is not based on distance, and keeps costs down.
